Se <br /> <br />SECTION 9: <br /> <br /> 1. <br /> <br /> A. <br /> <br />At the scene of the emergency and prior to the ambulance <br />providers arrival, the senior first responder shall be in <br />control of the emergency victim's care provided by that <br />agency and its members. <br /> <br />Upon arriving at the scene of the emergency, the crew on <br />the ambulance shall assume control of the victim's care. <br /> <br />The ambulance crew shall, at their discretion, release <br />the first responders when he or she feels their service <br />is no longer needed at the emergency scene or may request <br />one or more first responders to assist in the <br />transportation of the patient(s) to the hospital. <br /> <br />The first responders shall act in a professional and <br />courteous manner at all times when administering care to <br />patients. <br /> <br />The first responder and the first responder agency shall <br />be liable for their actions pertaining to the care of the <br />patient prior to the arrival of the ambulance provider. <br /> <br />Standards for Record Keeping. <br /> <br /> Each first responder agency shall maintain the following <br /> records: <br /> Record of Patient Treatment: For each patient <br /> rendered assistance by the first responder agency, <br /> the following information will be recorded on a <br /> patient treatment form: <br /> (1) Name, age, and address of the patient. <br /> (2) Date and time treatment rendered. <br /> (3) Location of treatment rendered. <br /> (4) Patient complaints and condition at the time <br /> of treatment rendered. <br /> (5) Patient vital signs and time recorded. <br /> (6) Treatment rendered the patient by the first <br /> responder. <br /> (7) Printed names of the first responders who <br /> provided patient care. <br />B. Two copies of the record of Patient Treatment shall <br /> be given to the ambulance crew when he/she assumes <br /> control of the patient's care at the emergency <br /> scene. <br />C. A copy of the completed Record of Patient Treatment <br /> will be given to the Director of Cabarrus County <br /> Emergency Management on a monthly basis. <br /> <br /> <br />
