Memorandum <br />December 1, 1992 <br />Page -3- <br /> <br />5. A secondary project had been reviewed several times involving <br />this site. That is the extension of water to the site. The site <br />is currently served by wells and the Howells are very interested in <br />public water. CDBG funds could be utilized for this extension, and <br />initial estimates are for $32,000 to be spent by the County to <br />upsize the system to serve other areas. Preliminary cost estimates <br />are $230,000 for this water project. I seek your consent to <br />further explore this option with the State Commerce Finance Center <br />at the pre-application meeting. <br /> <br />After the pre-application meeting with the Commerce Finance Center, <br />a better understanding of the project and its related costs can be <br />worked out. At that time a second formal public hearing will be <br />scheduled. It is after this public hearing that the County will <br />need to formally determine whether or not it wants to pursue the <br />grant. <br /> <br />Attachments <br /> <br /> <br />
