(q) Temperature limit. Any liquid or vapor having a
temperature greater than one hundred fifty (150) degrees
Fahrenheit (fifty-five (55) degrees Celsius) or which will
inhibit biological activity in the wastewater treatment plant
resulting in interference, but in no case wastewater with the
temperature at the introduction into the wastewater treatment
plant to exceed one hundred four (104) degrees Fahrenheit
(forty (40) degrees Celsius).

(r) Fixed solids limit. Any waters or wastes in which the
total fixed solids exceed one thousand five hundred (1,500)
mg/!.

(s) Excessive ammonia. Any waters or wastes in which the
a~unonia'exceeds fifteen (15) mg/1.

(t) Heavv metals. Any waters or wastes containing amounts of
arsenic, cadmium, chromium, copper, lead, nickel, zinc, or
other heavy metals which exceed national categorical
standards, local limits, interfere with treatment efficiency
cr sludge disposal criteria or cause the wastewater treatment
plant to exceed NPDES permit limitations.

(u) Poisons. A~ny waters or wastes containing cyanide or other
such poisonous substances.

(';) interferinc solids. Any waters or wastes containing
suspended solids of such character and quality that unusual
attention or expense is required to handle such materials'at
the wastewater treatment plant.

(w) Color. Any wastewater which imparts color which cannot
be removed by the treatment process, such as, but not limited
to, dye wastes and vegetable tanning solutions, which
consequently imparts color to the treatment plant's effluent
thereby violating the wastewater treatment plant's NPDES
permit. Color (in combination with.turbidity) shall not cause
the treatment plant effluent to reduce the depth of the
compensation point for photosynthetic activity by more than 10
percent from the seasonably established norm for aquatic life.

(x) Fats or greases. Any fats or greases, including but not
limited to petroleum oil, nonbiodegradable cutting oil, or
products of mineral oil origin, in amounts that will cause
interference cr pass through; but in no case, exceed the limit
as specified in (a) above.

(y) Soluble oils. Nonbiodegradable cutting oils, commonly
called soluble oils, which form a persistent water emulsion,
and nonbiodegradable complex carbon compounds.

17
