PROCLAMATION <br /> <br />HONORING THE BICENTENNIAL COMMISSION <br /> <br />OF CABARRUS COUNTY <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the year 1992 is the Bicentennial year of Cabarms County, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Bicentennial Commission has devoted nearly three years to the planning <br />and implementation of a celebration of the Bicentennial, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Bicentennial Commission has undertaken to celebrate the occasion <br />through a series of programs, projects and events throughout the entire year, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, these programs have sparked a new interest in the history of our county and <br />our region, and inspired an appreciation of the contributions of those who have gone before us, <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, these programs have involved literally thousands of citizens of our county <br />in a series of programs, re-enactments, restoration projects, and other commemorative activities <br />in every region of the county, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, such educational programs and activities would not have been possible <br />without the voluntary efforts of the Bicentennial Commission and its many patrons and friends, <br /> <br /> NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Cabarrus County Board of <br />Commissioners hereby honors the contributions and support of the thousands of county <br />participants, and hereby gives particular recognition to the efforts of the Bicentennial Commission <br />members, for their diligence and their willingness to devote themselves freely to the cause of <br />historical preservation and education, so that generations to come will have the opportunity to <br />understand the times and challenges which bring us constantly to a new future, <br /> <br />Helen Arthur, Charlotte Observer, President <br />John B.
