Holidays <br /> The following days and such other days as the Commi~iouers may designate are <br /> holidays with pay for employees and officers of the County worldng the basic work week <br /> I of forty (40) hours. <br /> <br /> New Year's Day Veteran's Day (Nov. 11) <br /> I Ma-tin Luther King Jr's Birthday Thanksgiving Day <br /> Good Friday Day after Thanksgiving <br /> Memorial Day Christma~ - Two (2) workdays <br /> I Independence Day <br /> Labor Day <br /> <br /> I When a holiday falls on a Saturday or Sunday, the County shall observe the same <br /> <br /> Iday as the State of North Carolina observes for the holiday in question. <br /> <br /> Employees assigned to Emer§ency Medical Services with a schedule of on duty <br /> I l~venty-four (24) hours and off duty forty-eight (48) hours shall have one hundred twelve <br /> <br /> I(112) hours off per year in lleu of the regular holidays. <br /> <br /> Holiday leave credited to temporary and permanent part-time employees shall be <br /> I detemfin~d in accordance with the formula set forth in Sect/on 19 of figs Article. <br /> <br /> I In order to be eligible for holiday pay, a permanent part-time County employee <br /> must be regularly scheduled to work on the day in which the holiday falls, unless excused <br /> I by the County Manager. <br /> <br />I In order to be eligible for holiday pay, a temporary County employee must bare <br /> worked a full regularly scheduled workday before and after the bol/day, unless excused <br />i by the County Manager. <br />! <br />! <br />il <br /> <br /> <br />
