I · Updating the County's Recycling Study. <br /> These subtasks are discussed below. <br /> <br /> A. Update Materials Market Survey <br /> <br /> CDM update the materials market survey information in the Cabarrus County <br /> ~ · Recycling Study as needed to address the recommendations made for <br /> increasing the existing recycling program. CDM will survey local markets <br /> for potential purchasers of recoverable materials such as any unusual <br /> I industrial and/or commercial wastes that appear to be recyclable and are <br /> generated in enough quantity to be a focus of the program. It is assumed <br /> that the County has adequate markets for newspaper, glass, aluminum, and <br /> plastics, and thus this information (which was in the Recycling Study) will <br /> not be addressed. Based upon the waste quantity estimates, CDM will <br /> estimate likely recoverable tonnages. <br /> <br /> I The results of the materials market survey update will <br /> include: <br /> <br /> I - Projected markets and quantities of recyclable material. <br /> - Estimated gross revenues and an assessment of their reliability. <br /> <br /> ' I - Estimated net revenues after deducting program costs. <br /> B. Evaluate Existing Recycling Programs in Cabarrus County <br /> <br /> CDM will identify all existing ~olid w~te recycling programs in Caberru$ <br /> I County, speak with responsible officials of each. and conduct an evaluation <br /> of the operation. The evaluation will include an assessment of means for <br /> <br /> i increasing the quantity of material recycled by each existing program. <br /> C. Development of Updated Caban-us County Recycling Study <br /> <br /> CDM shall ¢~tluate tltemativa waste separation/recycling programs <br /> I applicable to expanding the existing program.
