sion Cable of North Ca,'olina, Inc.
!

.,- C E I v

r~ ~ 0 1991

F~ary ~, 1991

Mr. Michael Ruffin
Cabarr~s County Manager
P.O. Box 707
Concord, NC 28025

Dear Mr. Ruffin:

As vision Cable reviews the 1990 year, many advances
and improvements were made in our technology, programming
and customer service. Our staff worked hard to provide
quality service to the vision Cable service area, and we
look forward to a progressive 1991.

In 1990, Vision Cable of Mecklenburg built 129 miles of
cable extensions along existing homes and developing
subdivisions, increasing our total mileage of cable
television system to 1210 miles. Cable service is now made
available to nearly 50,000 homes in both unincorporated and
incorporated areas of Mecklenburg County. With over 40
employees in our construction, installation, and service
departments, we are constantly working to provide service to
both new and existing homes in our service area.

Excelling in Customer Service has always been a mainstay
to Vision. In 1990, we adopted goals established by the
National Cable Television Association for all cable
operators. Over the past year, we have not only maintained
the standards, in many instances, We exceed the adopted
goals in the area of telephone answering capabilities,
office hours and punctual installation. We did this
despite lingering damage brought on by Hurricane Hugo in
1989.

We installed a system wide ARU (Audio Response Unit).
This technology al!ows customers to electronically access
their account balance, order a pay-per-view event, obtain
directions to our office - all from a touchtone phone. This
has improved the efficiency of the CustOmer Service
Department. Nevertheless, this system still allows the
customer to speak personally with one of over 20 Customer
Service Representatives at any point during regular business

4606 Margaret Wallace Rd. · Malthews, Norlh Carolina 28105 · 704/5~5-0136
