A?R O~ 1991

m MEMO

m
To: Board of commissioners
m From: Blair Bennett ~'~
Date: April 2, 1991
m Subject: write off of receivables

m Annually as a normal part of our auditing procedures, receivables
that are considered uncollectible are written off. Write offs for
property taxes are those over 10 years old subject to the statute
m of limitations. Other receivables that are deemed uncollectible
and therefore need to be written off are those for ambulance and
water and sewer. I request that the Board of Commissioners
m delegate the authority to the finance director to determine the
amount of the write off for all future receivables. I will assure
you that the tax collection and finance departments will pursue all
possible collection procedures before we deem the receivables as
muncollectible.

m

m

m Finanfe Depa~men!
PO.
