Planning and Zoning Commission Meeting May 15t 1991 Paqe 12 Mr. Hur~ocker stated he would like to make a couple of points. The movement of property from commercial to an industrial zone is not an increase in value. The comments about t~affic on Highway 29 if we are talking about 50 trucks or ]00 trucks the same width road 2 1/2 miles down the street carries over 35,000 cars and trucks per day. The addition of 50 or 100 vehicles that travel primarily this road any way. The one thing that did concern him is Mr. Miles com~aent about the dust. He knows the dust can damage the paint jobs on oars. Mr. Hurlocker stated the proposal that has been submitted is realistic and logically, he thinks what the Board needs to look at is the proposal for the land. We have him down to a SU zone instead of an I-2 across the board zoning. He thinks the Board can have more restrictions on it by doing so, but apparently he is in the minority in his views but he thinks a property owner has some inherent rights to do things with their property. It has not been proven to him that this will be a detriment, it may not be as positive as some things are, but we cannot get a Philip Morris here every day. The vote was 4 to 5, Mr. Olio-Mills, Mr. Smith, Mr. Amos and Mr. Shultz in favor of denying this petition. Mr. Hurlocker, Ms. Barbee, Ms. Harkey, Mr. Moose, and Dr. Randall in favor of this petition. This motion was denied. Mr. Hurlocker MOTIONED to approve Petition 91-06 as submitted, seconded by Ms. Barbee. Mr. Olio-Mills MOTIONED to table Petition 91-0~. Mr. Olio-Mills withdrew his motion for lack of second. The vote was 5 to 4, Mr. Hurlooker, Ms. Barbee, Mr. Moose, Ms. Randall and Ms. Harkey in favor of this petition. Mr. Olio-Mills, Mr. Shultz, Mr. Smith and Mr. Amos opposing this petitien. The petition was approved. Chairman Randall introduced the fourth item on the Agenda, Preliminary Plat Approval: 4.
