She asked if <br /> he would like to keep it on the table. <br /> <br /> Mr. Hartgen stated he would like for his Motion to stand <br /> for the moment. <br /> <br /> The Motion died for lack of second. <br /> <br /> Mr. Hurlocker stated to that the Board has discussed a <br /> nu~ar of items and they have swayed away from the issu9. <br /> He stated as for the traffic problem, there is a lot of <br /> traffic on Highway 73 West and Highway 73 East, there is <br /> a lot of traffic in Cabarrus County. He does not know of <br /> any better sites for the industrial park, and the <br /> developers will be benefiting themselves and Cabarrus <br /> County, therefore, he would lika to make a MOTION to <br /> approve Petition 91-08 as submitted, seconded by Mr. <br /> Smith. <br /> <br /> Chairman Randall stated this is a very good site for this <br /> development with its proximity to 1-85. The thing that <br /> gives her pause is the distance toi-77 from here which <br /> would generate a lot of truck traffic. But at the same <br /> time development of R~40 is going to generate traffic <br /> period In that area. She does have some hesitation about <br /> the proximity of the rest of the R-40, the buffer against <br /> an I-1, but at the same time she is looking at planning. <br /> What planning should be is to try to anticipate a good <br /> use for the land and how we think it should develop along <br /> these arterial roads. She the <br /> major <br /> proposal. <br /> <br /> The vote was 6 to 3.
