I <br /> <br /> STATUS OF WORK PROGRAM <br /> I November 14, 1991 <br /> <br /> I A-1 PROGRAM MANAGEMENT <br /> <br /> I At this point, nine interlocal agreements have been received. Two other <br /> counties, Mecklenberg and Gaston, have executed their agreements, but we <br /> have not yet received them. Cabarms and Rowan Counties have scheduled <br /> <br /> i the agreements for consideration by their respective Boards of Commissioners. <br /> Eleven funding contracts have been received. Rowan County has scheduled <br /> the contract for consideration by its Board of Commissioners. Anson County. <br /> Iwill be unable to fund th~s ),ear due to their budgctmy constraints. The State <br /> of North Carolina's funding contract has been received, but we have not yet <br /> gotten the contract from South Carolina. <br />i <br /> B-1 HIGHWAYS - "CAROLINAS P^RKWAY" <br /> <br /> Contract negotiations for the feasibility study of the Carolinas Park'way are <br /> currently undencay betxveen the N.C. Depa~ment of Transportation and the <br /> consultant. The consultant should b~ under contract by early D~cember. The <br /> consultant plans to sub-contract some of the technical work to UNCC's <br /> transportation center. <br />I B-2 MASS TRANSPORTATION <br />I The contract from the N.C. Department of Transportation for the feasibility <br /> study of a regional mass transportation ~,stem has been received. The <br />i contract from S.C. Department of Highways and Public Trans-portafion <br /> for their potion of the study should be received by mid- November. The <br /> entire cost of the study is about $105,000, of which South Carolina is <br /> contributing <br />I As part of the Mass Transit Parmership efforts, discussions have been held <br /> with the Charlotte Uptown Development Corporation and the Charlotte <br />I Deparlment of Transportation conc*ming an express bus mute from the <br /> Rock Hill area to uptown Charlotte. Efforts lo find funding and a sen'ice <br /> provider will continue. The cost of the route should range from $200,000 <br /> to $300,000. with revenues ranging from $60,000 to $8o.000. <br />! <br />I <br />I <br /> <br /> <br />
