COMMISSION RELEASES MAP, <br /> Page Two <br /> <br /> The Cdmmission is presenting its second statewide <br />exclusionary map during its monthly ~eport to the <br />Environmental Review Commission on Friday, February 16, <br /> 1990. The map will also be presented at 7:00 p.m., prior to <br /> each public hearing being held March 20 - March 27. These <br /> publio hearings are being held to invite public comment on <br /> the Commission's third and final set of site selection <br /> criteria. <br /> <br /> The public hearings will be held at the following <br /> locations: March 20, 1990, 7:30 p.m. <br /> Reidsville Sr. High School <br /> 1901S. Park Drive <br /> Reidsville, NC 27320 <br /> <br /> March 21, 1990, ?:30 p.m. <br /> MCNC Auditorium <br /> 3021 Cornwallis Road <br /> Researoh Triangle Park, NC 27709 <br /> <br /> March 22, 1990, 7:30 p.m. <br /> Johnston County Courthouse <br /> Superior Court Room, 2nd Floor <br /> 212 Market Street <br /> Smithfield, NC 27577 <br /> <br /> March 27, 1990, 7:30 p.m. <br /> Randolph Co~u~unity College <br /> Auditorium <br /> 629 Industrial Park Avenue <br /> Asheboro, NC 27203 <br /> <br /> The Commission expects to issue a third statewtde map <br />prior to designating suitable areas in which to locate the <br />facility,- <br /> <br /> The Commission is charged by the General Assembly with <br />locating a suitable site for a hazardous waste facility for <br />the state, According to a Regional Agreement approved by <br />the Legislature on December 7, 1989, the state must <br />designate suitable sites for a facility by May, 1990. <br /> <br /> [Editor's Note: The Hazardous Waste Management <br /> Commission has issued a map of the North Carolina areas <br /> excluded by ~he second statewide screening ~o the <br /> Associated Press wire service. This map is also <br /> available by facsimile until 5:45 p2m. on'February 15, <br /> 1990 from the Co---ission offices (919/733-5420). The <br /> Commission staff will respond to additional requests <br /> during the February 16, 1990 business day.] <br /> <br /> <br />
