Ronald Aycock, Executive Director <br /> DATE: April 23, 1990 <br /> <br /> The 83rd Annual Conference of the North Carolina Association of County Commissioners will be held <br /> on August 9-12, 1990, at the famous Grove Park Inn in Asheville, NC. <br /> <br /> ABOUT THE GROVE PARK INN <br /> <br /> As you know, the Grove Park Inn & Counwy Club is one of the most acclaimed resorts in the nation. Lo- <br /> cated on the side of Sunset Mountain in the heart of the Blue Ridge, the Inn was recently expanded and <br /> renovated to further meet the needs of large meetings and conventions. A new wing, the Vanderbilt Wing, <br /> includes a new ballroom and numerous other meeting rooms as well as additional sleeping rooms. <br /> <br />Restaurants: The Grove Park Inn has three major restaurants, the Blue Ridge Dining room in the new <br />Vanderbilt Wing, the Carolina Cafe in the Sammons Wing (both of which are open for breakfast, lunch <br />and dinner), and the Sunset Terrace (not open for breakfast). A breakfast buffet is available every morn- <br />ing in the Blue Ridge Dining Room. <br /> <br />There also is a new nightclub on the lower level of the new wing called "Elaine's," wh}ch featnres modem <br />pop and beach music. <br /> <br />Dress: After 6:30 p.m., men are required to wear coats in a~l food and beverage ofltlets;except the Carolina <br />Cafe. Women should wear dresses, skirts and blouses or more formal pants ontfiis. During the day, <br />leisure clothes are appropriate, but shoes must he worn at all times in public areas. Bathing suits should <br />be covered when away from pool area. <br /> <br />Activities and Recreation: For information on the Grove Park Inn's recreational facilities, childrens' ac- <br />tivities and babysitting information, see the yellow attachment. <br /> <br />HOTEL RESERVATIONS <br /> <br />A reservation form for the Grove Park Inn & Coant!y Club is enclosed. Make photocopies if needed. <br />Room rates are $110 single and $125 double (room only), but these rates apply only until June 28, 1990. <br /> <br /> -OVER- <br /> <br /> <br />
