-5- <br />SPECIAL EVENTmA MOUNTAIN PARTY <br /> <br />This year's Hem of Plenty Dinner, hosted by the N,C. Agricultural Extension Agents Association, will <br />tm a real treat fo~- the whole family. On Friday, August 10, participants will be taken by bus to Taylor <br />Ranch, a truly outstanding mountain facility just 20 minutes from the Grove Park Inn. Spouses and <br />children can go out to the Ranch as early as 4:00 p.m. where a children's director will have special or- <br />ganized activities, including nature trails, croquet, volleyball, and lots of games. If they bring their own <br />softball glove and fishing equipment they can use the softball field and fish in the lake. <br /> <br />Beginning at 5100 p.m. and continuing to 6:15 p.m., buses will take the rest of the participants to.Taylor <br />Ranch, where the extension agents will serve their mouth-watering treats and other activities will begin. <br />Hayrides will be offered beginning at 6:00 p.m., continuing throughout the evening. Cloggers and <br />bluegrass bands will perform. And at 7:30 p.m., everyone will be treated to a rodeo, complete with bull <br />riding, roping, barrel r~icing and more. Children are encouraged to visit with the professional cowboys <br />and cowgirls performing the show. <br /> <br />Because of the cost of transportation and Use of facilities at Taylor Ranch, ticket costs for ti,is event are <br />$15 for aduh~ and $7 for children (ages 14 or less). <br /> <br />ANNUAL BANQUET--Lt.Governor James Gardner has been invited to attend the Annual Banquet <br />on Saturday, August 11, to install the officers and directors. In response to the results of last year's sur- <br />vey, there will be no reception prior to the banquet. However, there will be open bars set up to provide <br />beverages throughout the banquet. The banquet will be followed by a dance, featuring one of the top <br />beach music and pop music bands in the state--the Ken Kennedy Band.
