ANNUAL CONFERENCE ACTIVI'I~ INFORMATION <br /> <br />GOLF ARRANGEMENTS <br /> <br />The Grove Park Inn features a top-notch golf course designed by Donald Ross, Who hlso designed <br />Pinehurst #2. Call Bill Krickhan at the Pro Shop (704} 252-2711 to reserve your starting time no later <br />than June 1, 1990. Please m~e sure they know you are with the N.C. Association of County Commls- <br />sloners. The Association has reserved tee times On Thursday, August 9~ from 12:30 p.m.- 1:04 p.m. for <br />up to five foursomes and on Saturday, August 11, from 1:04 p.m.-l:36 p.m. for up to five fou~omes. <br />You are advised to call as soon as possible, especially if you want to choose some other tee-time for you <br />and your colleagues. If you do not have a partner, Mr. Krickhan will try to match you up with an al1- <br />pr0priate team. Please note that you must cancel your tee-time at least 24 hours in advance to avoid <br />charges. <br /> <br />Note that you must wear slacks or shorts and shirts with sleeves (no cut-off.icons and rio sleeveless shirts). <br />Womefi must wear either skirts, slacks'orshorts with shirts with sleeves (no halter tops). Green fces are <br />$34 per person for 18 holes and $21 for nine holes. Cart rental is $14.70 per person for 18 holes and $7.35 <br />for nine holes. <br /> <br />OTItER RECREATION <br /> <br />The Grove Park Inn has six outdoor tennis courts (both clay and hard) and three indoor tennis courts. To <br />reserve court space, call Don Mo~is at (704) 252-2711. Court fees ~e $12 per hour for hard court~. $16 <br />per hour for clay courts, and $18 per hour for~ndoor Courts. There also are indoor and onidoor ball <br />machine for rental. Blocked courts must be cancelled 24 hours in advance to avoid clt~ges. <br /> <br />The Sports Center at the Inn also offers racquetball and squash courts, a Nautilus fitness center, aerobics <br />classes, whirlpOol, and sauna. Aerobics and aqua aerobics classes are just $5.00 per class. <br /> <br />Walking and jogging trails are available near the hotel; you can request a diagram. An indoor swimming <br />pool and solarium is aVailable in the Sammons Wing. Located nearby is a children's activity room with <br />video games, ping pong table, bo~d games and television. <br /> <br />Horse drawn carriage rides are offered daily with a discoant rate for those booking at least four rides. <br />CHILDREN'S ACTIVITIES AND BABYSITI'ING <br /> <br />Babysitters are available through the hotel but you must provide at least 24 hours notice. We suggest <br />that you contact the hotel's Housekeeping Office prior to arrival to book a babysitter. Call 1-704-252- <br />2711. The Teddy Bear Club is a full-day program from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Satur- <br />day and 6.'00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday nights for children ages 3 to 5 at $17 per day per <br />child. The child must be potty trained and out of diapers. Lunch or dinner is provided. <br /> <br />The Inn also can arrange full-day activities for older children on Monday through Saturday, from 9:00 <br />a.m. to ~:30 p.m. including lunch. Called Operation Kid-Nap, this is a fully supervised prog~tm for <br />children ages 6 to II and includes water games, obstacle courses, movies, hiking, crafts, etc. Each par- <br />ticiparit should bring a bathing suit and comfortable shoes. This program also is available at night from <br />6:30-10:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday nights, and consists of movies, pizza and soft drinks. The cost <br />of either the day or evening program is $17 per day per child. Call (704) 252-2711 and ask for the Sports <br />Center to make arrangements for Children's Activities. You can register for the Teddy Bear Club or <br />Operation Kid-Nap at the indoor pool in the first 30 minutes of the program. <br /> <br />NOTE: Night-time programs can be extended to 11:30 p.m. if you give 24-bohr notice. <br /> <br /> <br />
