Ronald Aycock, Executive Director <br />DATE: April 30, 1990 <br /> <br />Them am several items related to the NCACC Annual Conference in Asheville on August 9-12 which <br />need your immediate attention. Registration information on the conference was mailed last week. <br /> <br />PROPOSED RESOLUTIONS <br /> <br />Association President Wayne Hooper, has asked that resolutions to be considered at Annual Conference <br />be submitted to the Association office no later than Friday, July 13, 1989. This date will enable us to <br />publish proposed resolutions in CountyLines prior to the beginning of our Conference. <br /> <br />The roles governing the resolutions process are set forth in Article VII, Section 1, of the Association Con- <br />stitution, which roads as follows: <br /> <br />SECTION 1: Submission of Resolutions to Resolutions Committee. A resoh~tion may be submitted <br />for consideration by the Resolations Committee at the Annaal Meeting of the Association in one of the <br />following ways: <br /> <br />1. By official action of a member board of county cornrntssioners; <br /> <br />2. By official action of a standing or special colnmittee of the Association; <br /> <br />3. By official action of an affiliate organization of the Association; <br /> <br />4. By motion of a member of the Resolutiot~* Comndttee. <br /> <br />The Board of Directors will meet as the Resolutions Committee during the Annual Conference on the <br />following dates: <br /> <br />Thursday, August 10---10:00 a.m., Grove Park Inn <br /> <br />Friday, August 11-- 3:30 p.m., Grove Park Inn (if needed) <br /> <br />NEW PROCEDURE FOR HANDLING LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTIONS <br /> <br />Due to the continued confusion created by having legislatively oriented resolutions considered at both <br />the Annual Conference and at the Legislative Goals Conference, the Board of Directors voted on March <br />29 to adopt a new policy concerning the handling of legislative resolutions proposed at Annual Con- <br /> <br /> <br />
