Multipurpose Senior Center

The multipurpose Senior Center Committee identified key issues relating
to appropriate utilization of the Senior Center and recommends the
following response strategies.

1.' Increase Public Awareness of Needs of Senior Adults.

The committee recommends that the Multipurpose Senior Center is an
effective focal point only when the community is aware of the
centers role asan entry point to the retirement system providing
information, services and activities to the senior adults.
Therefore, a senior center outreach, promotion is recommended. This
can be accomplished in ways such as brochures, flyers, public
speaking and appropriate utilization of the media. This outreach
should be conducted under the supervision of the Cabarrus County
Council on Aging Advisory Board.

2. Comprehensive Service Delivery

The Cabarrus County Senior Center should establish and maintain the
precedent for comprehensive service delivery. A full range of
available services which reflect the needs of the senior adult
community should be accessible at the Multipurpose Senior Center.

A.
