July 2~ 1990

TO: Blair Bennett~ County Finance Officer

FROM: Angels Ferguson, Director~~/
Caharrus County Dept. of Aging

SUBJECT: Department of Aging Program Income Polfcy

The program coordinator has made a request concerning a change in
current policies regarding participant contributions and deposits.
We request that the Dept, of Aging be allowed to make deposits to the
county finance office on a weekly basis and also the last day of each
month for the Title III-C Nutrition Program and the Title III-B
Transportation Program.

We understand that according to the Local Budget Fiscal Control
Act which county government follows, that any money collected or
received by an employee of a local government or public authority shall
deposit his collections daily. We also understand that if the
governing board gives its approval, deposits may be made less frequently.
Therefore, we are requesting that this item be presented before the
Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners requesting their approval for the
Department of Aging Program Income Receipts Policy (which essentially
will authorize our bookkeeper to make one large deposit weekly). We
estimate that one box would contaln a maxim~m amount of $150.00 per

We appreciate your attention and assistance in this matter. Please
call us if we can be of additional assistance.

Enclosures
