C~B~J~US COUN~ PILO~ CDR_B$IDE RECYCLING PEO~R~ <br /> <br /> Cabarrus County hereby requests bids to provide the public a pilot <br />curbside program for the collection of newspapers, glass containers, <br />aluminum/bi.,.metal eons, and PET bottles. Other materials may be negotiated <br />after program is in operation. <br /> <br />* Program: The Recycling Program will be approached in three (3) phases, <br />The first phase wl~.l include approximately 10,000 homes, second phass being <br />approximately 12,500 homes, and the third phase 12,500 homes which will <br />complete the total number of single family dwellings in Csbarrus County. The <br />cost of the program should include the implementation of the separate phases. <br />Each phase will be implemented one (1) year from the previous phase starting <br />date, until total number of homes ar~ participating in the program. <br /> <br />* Phase I: The number of homes to be collected will be approximately <br />10,000. The total number will be divided in the following manner: <br /> <br /> 1. Concord - 4,000 <br /> 2. Kannapolis - 4,000 <br /> 3. Herrisburg - 1,000 <br /> 4. Mt. Pleasant - 1,000 <br /> <br />* Scheduling: Collection must be provided once a week, to be scheduled on <br />the residents garbags pick-up day. (For example, the garbage collection day <br />is Monday, the curbside recycling will be on Monday.) Collection shall not <br />begin prior to ?:00 a.m. The bid shall furnish the collection schedule for <br />each area. <br /> <br />* Collection Areas: The following boundaries will make-up the collection <br />areas. In preparation of the RFB, we tried to develop ihs boundaries to <br />co~tain 10,000 homes. This may vary some, but the following areas are to be <br />collected at curbside. <br /> <br /> 1. The following portion of Cabarrus County will consise of the city <br /> limits of Concord. <br /> <br /> A. Beginning at 601 bypass in front of Health Department in <br /> southease direction to Old Charlotte Road. Take south <br /> direction to 49 East, following to city llne to include Gordon <br /> Heights neighborhood on left side of 49 (only). Follow city <br /> line to 601 bypass in east direction by turning right and <br /> follow to Union Street South in northern direction. Follow <br /> this direction which will be on city line, up to Cabarrus <br /> Avenue East going to the southwest direction, merging into <br /> Csbarrus Avenue West to 601 bypass at the Health Department. <br /> <br /> 2. The following portion of Cabarrus County will consist of a portion <br /> of the Kannspolis Community. <br /> <br /> A. At intersection of Pine Street and South Loop Road, take Pine <br /> Street in east direction. This will merge into Mooresville <br /> Road, take left a city limits and go in southern direction <br /> <br /> <br />
