NORTH CAROLINA <br /> CONTRACT <br /> CABARRUS CO~ <br /> <br /> THIS CONTRACT, made and entered into effective the Ist day of Jul),, 1990, by <br /> and betxveen Cabatras Count3,, a body politic and political subdivision of tho State of <br /> North C. arolMa, hereinafter referred to as the "County", by and through its EmergenT <br /> Medical Services Office, and the Cabarms Rescue Squad, Inc., a non-profit corporation <br /> of Cabarms County, North Carolina, hereinafter referred to as "Rescue Squad"; <br /> <br /> WlTNESSETH: that- <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, County, through the Cabarrus County Emergency Medical Services <br />Department operates an ambulance sen/ce, and Rescue Squad operates a volunteer <br />rescue organization which provides ambulance and rescue service in addition to and as <br />a supplement for the regular ambulance sen/ce of County; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, County is authorized to make contributions to Rescue Squad under <br />the provision of G.S. 153A-445, and to operate an ambulance under the provisions of <br />G.S. 153A-250; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, County and Rescue Squad desire to enter into a contract whereby <br />Rescue Squad will provide ambulance and rescue services in Cabarrus County in addition <br />to the regular ambulance service of County; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Rescue Squad desires to secure the continued financial support of <br />County for a portion of its costs incurred in providing rescue and ambulance services, <br />and in the interests and welfare of its citizens, County desires to provide financial support <br />for a portion of the costs incurred by Rescue Squad in its provision of ambulance and <br />rescue services; and <br /> <br /> <br />
