~' NORTH CAROLINA <br /> CONTRACT <br /> CABARRUS COUNTY <br /> <br /> q~IIS CONTRACT, made and entered into as of the 1st day of ~nly, 1990, by and <br /> <br /> between CABARRUS COUNTY, a body politic and political subdivision of the State of <br />i' <br /> North Carolina, hereinafter refer/ed to as the "COUNTY", by and through its Board of <br /> <br /> .. Commissioners, and KEEP CABARRU._S CLEAN AND BEAUTIFUL, INC., a non-profit <br /> corporation of Cabarrus County, North Carolina, hereinafter referred to as "KCCBI"; <br /> <br /> WITNESSETH: that- <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, KCCBI is a non-profit corporation located in Cabarrus County, North <br /> Carolina, the purpose of which is, among other things, to plant, cultivate and/or clean <br /> up public property, to educate the general public regarding the benefits of a clean <br /> environment, and to institute other programs designed to reduce litter and other physical <br /> pollution of the envkonment of Cabarrus County for the benefit of all its citizens; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, COUNTY is authorized to make contributions to KCCBI under the <br /> provisions of G.S. 153A-247, 153A-274, Chapter 130 of the General Statutes, and <br /> otherwise pursuant to its police power; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, COUNTY and KCCBI desire to enter into a contract whereby <br /> KCCBI Will initiate and implement programs consistent with its purposes hereinbefore <br /> set forth; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, KCCBI desires to obtain the financial support of COUNTY for a <br /> portion of its costs incurred in providing such services and, in the interest and welfare <br /> of its citizens, COUNTY desires to provide financial support for a portion of the costs <br /> <br /> <br />
