NOR'I~[ CAROLINA <br /> CONTRACT <br />CABARRUS COUNTY <br /> <br /> TI{IS CONTRACT, made and entered into as of the 1st day of July, 1990, by and <br />between CABARRUS COUNTY, a body politic and political subdivision of the State of <br />North Carolina, hereinafter referred to as the "COUNTY", by and through its Board of <br />Comn-dssloners, and the CABARRUS ANIMAL PROTECTION ASSOCIATION, Inc., <br />hereinafter referred to as "ANIMAL PROTECTION", a non-profit corporation of <br />Cabarrus County, North Carolina. <br /> <br /> WITNESSETH: that- <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, ANIMAL PROTECTION is a non-profit corporation located in <br />Cabarrus County, North Carolina, the purpose of .which is among other things, to aide <br />in the prevention of cruelty to animals; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, COUNTY is authorized to make contributions to ANIMAL <br />PROTECTION under the provisions of G.S. 153A-247, 153A-274, Chapter 130 of the <br />General Statutes, and other~vise pursuant to its police power; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, COUNTY and ANIMAL PROTECT/ON desire to enter into a <br />contract whereby ANIMAL PROTECTION will initiate and implement programs <br />consistent with its purposes hereinbefore set forth; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, ANIMAL PROTECTION desires to obtain the financial support of <br />COUNTY for a portion of its costs incurred in preventing cruelty to animals and, in <br />the interest and welfare of its citizens, COUNTY desires to provide financ{al support for <br />a portion of the costs incurred by ANIMAL PROTECTION in providing such a service; <br />and <br /> <br /> <br />
