<br /> On Thursday, August 16, 1990 at 2:00 PM, we received 10 bids
<br /> for the construction of the water line mentioned. This project
<br /> is divided into two divisions.
<br />
<br /> Division "A" consists of 4800' of 12" water line along Hwy.
<br /> 73 East and Walker Road to the new Rt. Pleasant High School and
<br /> is included in this year's Water & Sewer District budget. The
<br /> Cabarrus County Board of Education is contributing $36,000 toward
<br /> the construction of Division "A".
<br />
<br /> Division "B" consists of a meter vault and 1820' of 6" water
<br /> line on the site of the new high school and is to be paid for in
<br /> its entirety by the Board of Education. The entire project will
<br /> be administered by the Cabarrus County Utility Department.
<br />
<br /> The low bidder was RDR, Inc. of Stanfield, N.C., with a total
<br /> bid of $129,967.50. My estimate for Division "A" was $98,000 and
<br /> David Roberts', Board of Education Engineer, estimate for Division
<br /> "B" was over $50,000. We are very pleased with the amount of the
<br /> low bid and have always been pleased with the work of the low
<br /> bidder.
