11. Three (3) meals will be served each day, 365 days per year. The successful <br /> bidder will deliver each meal to the second.floor of the Cabarrus County Jail, <br /> Concord, North Carolina, Law Enforcement Con'er. The breakfast meal will be <br /> delivered at 7:00 A.M., dinner meal at 12:00 Noon, and the supper meal at <br /> 5:00 P.M. Delivery must be made by the fond supplier. Meals must arrive at <br /> the jail hot~ one hundred forty (140) degrees, and cold food items at forty-five <br /> ~5) degrees, exactly at the times above. <br /> <br />12. The food bidder will furnish a pre-p~ckaged heavy-duty fork, spoon, salt, pepper, <br /> and napkin for each inmate three(3) times a day. Spoons and forks should be <br /> disposable. The food supplier will furnish coffee, tea, sugar,.and other condiments <br /> (mustard, ketchup, tartar sauce, etc.) as appropriate to the meal. Milk will also <br /> be provided by the food supplier three (3) times per day for each inmate. Milk <br /> should be in half-pint (g oz.) individual containers. Coffee should be delivered <br /> hot, in insulated bulk containers and each serving shall consist of g oz., two. <br /> individual packets of sugar for each B oz. of coffee. Tea should he delivered <br /> cold, in insulated bulk containers and each serving shall consist of 8 oz, Tea <br /> should be sweetened. Cups are available at the jail for individual serving. <br /> Orange juice (4 oz.) shall he delivered in individual disposable 4 oz. containers <br /> 100% orange juice. <br /> <br />13. Th~ County wants one (1) bid for tile meals to be deliver~d"to tile Caharrus County <br /> Jail. Meals will be delivered to the jail in insulated hulk containers. Food <br /> supplier must furnish styrofoam containers with separate food sections for <br /> dispensing food. Food supplier must prepare each serving from the bulk containers <br /> to the styrofoam plates according to the number of meals ordered. Styrofoam soup <br /> containers will be furnished by the supplier when soup is served'. <br /> <br />14. Bills showing the number of meals served each day, will be sent to the jail <br /> with the last meal of the dmy. Bills should be b~oken down as to the number <br /> of hreJkfasts served, lunches served, and dinners served. These daily receipts <br /> will be supplied by tile feed supplier. The meal bills will be paid twice per <br /> month, each fifteen (15) days. The number of meals requested by ~he jail will <br /> vary from day to day. The number of meals requested will be called in to the <br /> .supplier, one (1) hour before delivery. The average number of meals to be <br /> requested would total approximately 3,500 per month. <br /> <br />15. Ail food shall be prepared and stored in accordance with sanitary rules and <br /> regulations adopted by the Division for Health Services, including tile <br /> Health Department and Staff. <br /> <br />16. This written agreement is drawn to insure compliance and standards of service. <br /> It includes the diet required by State Regulations and the amounts of specific <br /> food to be served. Tile attached menu will be followed for daily serving~ as <br /> required by State Law. No changes may be made to the jail menu. <br /> <br />17. TAXES: The bidder should include any sales tax involved into the unit cost per <br /> meal. <br /> <br />18. The General Statutes of tile State of North Carolins~ insofar ss they apply to <br /> purchasing and competitive bidding are madu u part hereof. <br /> <br /> Michael M.
