STAFF ANALYSIS~PETITION 89-12 <br /> <br /> Tho purpose of thla request for rezoning to C-4 is to <br /> allow the operation of a carpet and decorating store in an <br /> existing commercial building. <br /> The commercial building and property are located within <br /> aa area of U.S. 601 around Midland that has a number of <br /> commercial establishments. Thesu axiating commercial uses <br /> are allowed as permitted uses to the north of this property, <br /> end es 9randiathered and conditional uses to the south of <br /> this property. <br /> If this property is rezoned, the petitioner would be <br />required to conform to tho standards of tho Thoroughfare <br />Overlay Zone, which ho has already begun to do. <br /> Staff recommends that in light of the previous <br />commercial use of this property, its location on a major <br /> thoroughfare, and the number of commercial uses in the ares, <br /> that this pot trion be granted. <br /> <br /> <br />
