SENATE BILL 111: SOLID WASTE LAW REVISIONS <br /> Staff Contact - Ed Regan <br /> <br />Please find attached a preliminary summary of Senate Bill 111 which <br />represents the most significant change in state law and policy on <br />solid waste management in the last twenty years. The summary is <br />organized on a section-by-section basis. <br /> <br />The new law is far-reaching and complex. For that reason~ we have <br />planned a series of background papers to provide' more detail on <br /> specific areas of the law. The topics and schedule for these papers <br /> are presented below. <br /> <br />Topic Est. COUNTY SATELLITE JAIL/WORK RELEASE UNIT FUNDS <br /> Staff Contact - Patrice Roesler <br /> <br />The 1989 General Assembly appropriated $4.5 million in 1989-90 and $4 <br />million in 1990-91 to help counties construct or renovate facilifies to <br />house minimum custody/work release misdemesnants. <br /> <br />The Office of StaLe Budget and Management is the administering agency <br />for the funds. Materials are being prepared for a mailing to county <br />commission chairmen and managers explaining the grant application <br />process. Up to $750,000 will be svailable for each applicant on a <br />competitive basis.
