Box ?07 <br /> Concord, NC 28025 <br /> <br /> Dear Mr. Lentz: <br /> <br /> The Man's Garden Club of Wake County has a pro~ect to honor the state flower of <br /> North Carolina by planting lqO,O00 dogwood trees along the 32 mile beltline around <br /> the capital city. <br /> <br /> The members of the Men's Garden Club would like to have every citizen of North <br /> Carolina represented in this tribute. This letter is to urge you to take the <br /> following proposal to the Cabarrus County commissioners: <br /> <br /> Make s contribution of ~o Cents for each resident of Cabmrrus County <br /> to the Dogwood Fund sponsored by he Men's Garden Club of Wake County. <br /> <br /> Please help us to make this a 100 percent participation for ali citizens by making a <br /> county contribution on behalf of the people in Cabarrus County. The total cost of the <br /> project will be approximately SEO0,O00. <br /> <br /> if funds are not Currently available in Cabarrus County, we would appreciate your <br /> budgeting this amount for your next fiscal year. A note from you stating that this <br /> will be done will be greatly appreciated. <br /> <br /> The North Carolina Department of Transportation is cooperating in the pro~ect by <br /> supervising and managing all phases of the planting. Reference: Mr. L. E. Stegall, <br /> Division Engineer, P.O. Box 15580, Durham~ NC 2??04 or the Governor's Office. <br /> <br /> All funds contributed go directly to the cost of plants and planting.
