14r~ Henry plummet, someone had stolensomething. His instructions were
Last House on Quay road, The officer~ went to Idg turned left into
Mecklenburg Co. and as I understand~ went to the home of Mr. Baskins
or one of the other others that live on this road. They then came back
to 1.'r. Plummets.
12- Also there was an alarm went into Pitt School Fire ~ept. Fletcher
Little ( Who used to be Fire Chief there),was leading the Fire
Truck in another vehicle. He went to the Dead End at I-8~ turned
around and came back up Old Holland Rd. and met the Fire Truck in
front of my house. Someone on the Fire Truck knew about the houses
on the new road to the left at the end of Old Holland~ this being
in Meek. Co. was Quay Rd. A tree had fallen across a power line..and
it was sparking all the way to the ground. They ( Wire PersonalS'
left and called Duke Power. Where this housing development has -
begun is in Meek. Co. and again it is accessed this way~ Quay Rd.
PRom Union School/Mqllard Creek Rd.~ turn into Quay Rd. for gOO ft.
then it becomes Old Holland (at the Co. line) thence to area at
dead end a~ 1-8g~ turn left onto Quay Hd. again. CONFUSING ~-?.
13- Many people on each end of the road are still using Quay Rd.
addresses. The Post 0fflcelssued first~ 8100 Quay Rd. as my
address. Two or three weeks later we were notified that it was
8100 Old Holland Rd. Many peoples address have chan~ed like mine,
Example: mine was Rt. 1 Box ~0~ to 8100 Quay Rd. to 8100 01d
Holland Rd. (Harrisburg~ N.C.. This required notification of all
mailings to various Billing. Social Sec.- Church and many others to
be notified. Mr. Akins ( who lives in front of me) has never been
given a new mailing address. His is still Rt. 1Box~0~ llarrisburg~
N.C. Several people living on what used to be Quay Rd. For reasons
of directions instruetion,~sed Quay RD. as instructions on their
printed material Used in their business.mhese were and are operated
from their homes. One told Mr. Van Aklns and myself~ when we were
getting the petition up,'he had Just s6nt in an order for "Quote,,
au order foe between $800.00 and $1000.00 for envelopes etc. with
his company mama on them.
My worry is about Fire Medical and Police protection for my
family and neighbors. This problem is very bad to try to describe
to others about the location of this road. With the information
given to us by Mr Phollip L. Kingsland it se.ems that the Road is
still Quay Rd.. And since they have told us that Cabarrus Co. will
not pay $200.00 to Meek. Co tq change the signs in their portion
of the road to 01d Holland. It seems that something best to do
would be to (if necessary) make the road in Neck. and Cabarrus Co.
The same as it has been for years. Thus solving this discrepancy.
The other option it seems would be to pay Neck. Cg. to change the
name of the roads in Meek. Co. to 01d Holland Rd. This'may present
a problem (I don't ~ow). because of the new signs being recently
installed with the designated BLOCKS (9600) on my end.etc.
