Advise the Owner of any adjustment of the cost estimate of the project <br /> caused by changes in scope, design, requirements or increased construc- <br /> tion costs. <br /> <br /> 3. Furnish reouired sets of plans and specifications for use by Owner, <br /> regulatory agencies and Contractors. (Cabarrus County printing machine <br /> and paper will be used to keep costs down,) <br /> <br /> 4. Provide assistance in advertising for bids, securing a list of qualified <br /> bidders for the project, taking bids and advising the Owner as to the <br /> best bids to accept. <br /> <br /> 5. Prepare formal contract documents for award of contract. <br /> <br /> The plans and specifications phase will terminate with the evaluation of <br /> bids, negotiating of proposals and preparing construction contracts. <br /> <br /> For these services, the Engineer is to be paid by the Owner on an hourly <br /> rate as indicated in part IV. <br /> <br /> Part III Engineerin9 Services during Construction (if desired) <br /> <br /> After the awarding of construction contracts and upon written request from <br /> the Owner, the Engineer will provide part-time engineering services during <br /> construction. These services will include the following: <br /> <br />1. Observation of the work performed by the Contractor to assure compliance <br /> with the plans and specifications and receiving first-class workmanship <br /> and materials. (See Item 8) <br />2o Preparation of monthly construction cost estimates for use as a basis <br /> for payment to the Contractor. (See Item 8) <br /> <br />3. Keep Owner fully informed as to the progress of the work and status <br /> <br /> of the project. <br /> <br />4. Issue instructions of the Owner to the Contractor and prepare Change <br /> Orders. <br /> <br />5. Provide assistance in tune-up and testing equipment. <br /> <br />6. Provide liaison between Owner, regulatory agencies and the Contractor. <br /> <br /> <br />
