CABARRUS COUNTY SOLID WASTE ORDINANCE <br /> <br /> (Current) <br /> <br /> SECTION VIII - COLLECTION OF SOLID WASTE <br /> <br />A. No person for hire shall collect or transport solid waste without a <br /> franchise. Residential collection shall be accomplished once each week <br /> at a frequency or at intervals specified by the Health Director, except <br /> in the following conditions: <br /> <br /> 1. No collection of garbage by franchise haulers is required to be made <br /> on days that snow is on the roads. <br /> <br /> 2. Only road side garbagepickup is required when snow remains on the <br /> ground or when the county's landfill is closed. <br /> <br /> 3. Garbage secured in out buildings need not ba picked up. <br /> <br />B. Garbage shall he secured in approved refuse containers being watertight, <br /> rust-resistant, easily emptied, equipped with aright fitting lid and not <br /> to exceed 32 gallons. <br /> <br />C. Weekly volume shall be limited to a maximum of 5-32 gallon containers or <br /> the equivalent of 160 gallons per household, <br /> <br />D. The Health Director shall annually inspect facilities, equipment, and <br /> proposed operating methods of any person making application therefore, <br /> and certifying that said facilities, equipment, and operating methods are <br /> in compliance with regulations promulgated by the Board of Health. <br /> <br /> <br />
