Philli~ Morris - Location: latitude 35°23'12"; longitude 80038'43''.
Runway alignment 5/23.

The Philllp Morris site is not recommended since it is located
approximately one nautical mile southwest of the Spencer private-use airport
and two nautical miles northwest of a proposed 1,409-foot AGL or 2049 AMSL
TV antenna towerl

e. Charlotte Motor S~eedwa~ - Location: latitude 35o21 '44";
longitude 80o40'58". Runway alignment 5/23.

The Charlotte ~k)tor Speedway site is not feasible for instrument
operations.

d. International Industrial Park - Location: latitude 35°25' 27";
longitude 80-39'34". Runway alignment 18/36.

The International Industrial Park site would be approximately two
nautical miles northwest of the Spencer private-use airport and five
nautical miles northwest of the proposed antenna tower. The traffic pattern
would have to be established to the west of the airport. Instrument
approach procedures would not be feasible to the north of this site.

The above are our preliminary coa~mn~ts and recommendations on the potential
sites for the Cabarrus County Airport. These c~ments deal with an airspace
analysis only. As far as airspace is concer~ed, it appears that a site
north of 1-85 toward Kannapolls would be less restrictive.

When the site for the Cabarrus county Airport is chosen, we will need to
finalize the airspace anlysis.

If you have any questions concerning this rotter, please do not hesitate to
call me.

Sincerely,

Civil Engineer

cc:
Wilbur Smith and Associates
Mr. W.
