GENERAL <br /> <br /> The Cabarrus County Board of Con~nissioners authorized a sewer feasibility <br /> study in 1986 of the Upper Rocky River/Coddle Creek Drainage Basin west <br /> of Concord/Kannapolis and the Muddy Creek/Rocky River Drainage Basin in <br /> the Midland area. A description of these drainage bas~ns follows: <br /> <br /> A. Upper Rocky River/Coddle Creek Draina§e Basin: This basin <br /> includes the area beginning at the intersection of Rocky River <br /> <br /> and Flowes Store Road and bounded on the east by the Irish <br /> <br /> Buffalo Creek drainage basin, on the north by the Cabarrus/Rowan/ <br /> Iredell County line, on the west by the Cabarrus/Mecklenburg <br /> County line, on the south by the Mallard Creek/Rocky River <br /> drainage basin to the point of confluence with Coddle Creek and <br /> the area north of Rocky River from Coddle Creek to the point of <br /> beginning. <br /> <br /> B. Mudd~ Creek/Rock~ River Draina§e Basin: Beginning at the <br /> southern tip of Cabarrus County, in a northerly direction along <br /> Rocky River to the gas pipeline right-of-way, then northwest <br /> <br /> along the gas pipeline right-of-way to U.S. 601, then north along <br /> U.S. 601 to N.C. 24/27, then west along N.C. 24/27 to Old Camden <br /> Road, then south along Old Camden Road to the Mecklenburg County <br /> line, then along the Cabarrus/Mecklenburg County line to the <br /> point of beginning. <br /> The study area was recently expanded to include a portion of the Adams <br />~ Creek and Cold Water Creek drainage basins east of the City of Concord, <br />_ from Gold Hill Road south to N.C. 49. <br /> <br /> -1- <br /> <br /> <br />
