CABARRUS COUNTY
Post Office Box 707
Concord, North C~olina 28026.0707

r. June 22, 1987

Mr. Everette J. McNeil, President
M & M Minerals, Inc.
Post Office Box 3109
Concord, North Carolina 28025

Dear Mr. McNeil:

The Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners in their meeting on
June i5, 1987, reviewed your request regarding permission to continue
dipping sand or removing sand from the proposed Coddle Creek
Impoundment. The Board of Commissioners felt that the request for a
sand dragging operation in the Coddle Creek was somewhat premature at
this time and determined that they would consider this request at the
time they begin construction of the impoundment of Coddle Creek.

The present area that you are removing sand has not been acquired
by the County at this time. We do anticipate acquisition of this land
area within the next six months. At the time the County acquires this
land, we will consider your request for continued operation of sand
removal at Site 1 as indicated on your map. From the time we acquire
the land until completed construction, it is anticipated to be a
period of two years.

Sincerely,

Charles D, McGinnis
County Manager

CDMcG/ffs

co: Walter Odell, County Engineer
