This program has
resulted in significant progress in our state, such as better equipped
and designed ambulances, improved personnel training, more efficiently
staffed emergency departments and simplified public access into the
system,

These changes, which have affected all areas of the state, would
not have been possible without a dedicated team effort on the part of
all of the organizsLions, agencies, and professionals involved in
Emergency Medical Services, Thousands of emergency medical
technicians, paramedics, emergency department physicians and nurses are
trained to provide emergency medical assistance. In addition, a large
number of our private citizens have been trained in eardiopulmonary
resuscitation to help those suffering from heart failure in emergency
situations.

A vast number of these individuals volunteer their time to help
others in this way.
