Many counties have already done <br /> soo <br /> <br /> The North Carolina Department or Labor ~has responsibilities under <br /> SARA, ~nder our State Occupational Safety and Health Act, under our State <br /> Mine Safety and Health Act, and under our State Hazardous Chemicals Right to <br /> Know Act to monitor employer and employee compliance with various regulations <br /> regarding hazardous chemicals. Our field representatives may be of <br /> assistance to you and your local committee as you begin planning for your <br /> responsibilities under SARA. <br /> <br /> Accordingly, we have asked, and the State Emergency Response <br /> Commission has agreed, to add to your local committee Mark Jackson, P.O. Box <br /> 1030, Concord, NC 28025, the Labor Department representative whom we have <br /> designated to serve the county with respect to planning for SARA compliance. <br /> <br /> I would appreciate your notifying our local representative of your <br /> plans for meetings of the local committee.
