m
. ~~"~, CABARRUS COUNTY
. ,~. ~'~ PLANNING DEPARTMENT
Post Office Box 707
, CONCORD, NORTH CAROLINA 28025

MEMORANDUM

TO: Mr. Charles D. McGinnis/County Manager

FROM: Thomas B. Robinson/Planning Oirector~-~r~-~

DATE: January 2, 1986

SUBJECT: Resolution from Board of County co~nissions supporting North
Carolina Geodetic Survey

Paul Hammer has brought to my attention a recon~endation from the Governor's
Efficiency Study Commission to eliminate the Geodetic Survey Section from the
Division of Land Resources of the Department of Natural Resources and Community
Development (see attached flyer). The elimination of the Geodetic Survey Section
will hurt Cabarrus County in its efforts to modernize its Land Records System.
Paul has written a letter to Mr. Thomas Rhodes with DNRCD opposing this elimination
{see attached letter).

I would like to request that the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners
adopt a resolution supporting the continuation of the North Carolina Geodetic
Survey.

Attachments
