RESOLUTION SUPPORTING NORTH CAROLINA GEODETIC SURVEY <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it has come to the attention of the Cabarrus County Board of Con~nissions <br />that the Governor's Efficiency Study Co~ission is recommending the elimination <br />of the North Carolina Geodetic Survey Section of the Division of Land Resources <br />with the North Carolina Department of Natural Resources and Con. unity Development; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Cabarrus County is presently implementing a modernized Land Records <br />Management System tied into the North Carolina State Plane Coordinate System <br />established by the geodetic survey; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, surveyors, engineers and developers referencing to geodetic survey <br />monumentation is essential to the development of the County's Land Records <br />system; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the geodetic survey saves the county and local surveyors, engineers and <br />developers considerable expense in providing other survey monumentation; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE Il RESOLVED as follows: <br /> <br />That the Board of Commissioners for the County of Cabarrus supports the continuation <br />of the North Carolina Geodetic Survey and opposes the Governor's Efficiency Study <br />Commission to eliminate this section from the Division of Land Resources. <br /> <br /> <br />
