Box 707 <br /> Concord, N.C. 28025 <br /> <br /> Dear Mr. McGinnis: <br /> <br /> In a regular monthly meeting on June 26, 1986, the Cabarrus County <br /> Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission took action on the following <br /> agenda items. <br /> <br /> The Cabarrus County Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission would <br /> like to recommend the nomination of Kurt D. Wessler to fill as the Youth <br /> Representative on the Advisory Commission. A rotating schedule of the <br /> five County high schools was utilized to help determine the nomination. <br /> Please present this recommendation to the Cabarrus Board of County Commissioners <br /> in their duly meeting. Enclosed is Mr. WessleK's application. <br /> <br /> The Commission reviewed and approved the City of Concord Parks and <br /> Recreation Department's Proposal fo~ the annexation of Hartsell and Winecoff <br /> Athletic Districts. In summary, the City of Concord would provide all program <br /> services to the Hartsell Youth Program.. Those youth who live outside of <br /> the City limits would pay a registration fee-to the City of Concord in <br /> order that they could be able to participate in the program. The Winecoff <br /> Youth Program would continue to operate the same as it has in the past and <br /> the City of Concord would p~ovide maintenance Of the athletic facilities. -. <br /> This maintcnancd agreement would be the City of Concord's' contribution to <br /> the program. Questions concerning the League's or Program's Concessioh <br /> Rights, Utilities Expenses, and registration procedures would be resolved <br /> by the City and County Recreation Directors, two Youth League Officials and a' <br /> appointed Board member, Mr. Rick Huneycutt. I will send you an outline of <br /> these proposals. <br /> <br /> The Advisory Board reviewed in detail and approved the Capital Outlay <br /> Budget FY86-87. The Board approved the construction of six lighted tennis <br /> courts and paved parking lot/roadway. An outline of this approved plan is <br /> enclosed for your review. <br /> <br /> The Advisory Board also reviewed and approved a policy on the use of <br /> park facilities and recreation programs by Department-Staff.
