Graves, Secretary <br /> <br />Gentlemen: <br /> <br /> In response to your letter of December 18, 1984, requesting a <br />project which the trust may wish tn fund, I am pleased to present <br />the following request. <br /> <br /> We propose that a grant be provided to the recently established <br />Cabarrus Library System for the specific purpose of purchasing library <br />materials and equipment for the new Kannapolis Branch, Charles A. <br />Cannon Memorial Library. Your funding of this project would enable <br />the ne~ library to build a quality materials collection and to acquire <br />the equipment essential to the utilization of many of these materials. <br />We believe that your support of this project will be most beneficial <br />to the citizens of Cabarrus County. <br /> <br /> These funds will be budgeted and spent as follows. <br /> <br /> a. Amount requested - $30,000. <br /> <br /> b. How funds will be spent: <br /> <br /> 1. Two-thirds of the amount,_~20,Qp0, will be spent <br /> through the Library System's budget ex~clus~ve~y fo_~r <br /> books and other librar_y, materials. The money will be <br /> placed in a separate reserve account to be drawn upon <br /> when needed. The money will be used in addition to the <br /> funds appropriated to the Library System by the County <br /> in any fiscal year. <br /> 2. The remaining amount, ~10.000: will be spent through <br /> the library's budget gXcl~l~Le~_y_for equipment such as <br /> microfilm reader/printers, film projectors, cassette <br /> <br /> <br />
