Robinson/Planning Director T~)~... <br />DATE: June ll, 1985 <br />SUBJECT: Road Names <br /> <br />The State is as king the County Commissioners to add a portion of an existing road <br />to the State system through resolution. A portion of this road is currently on <br />the system, which is Brafford Drive, SR 2495, located in Brafford Farms Subdivision. <br />However, the county h6s another road name on the State system that is deceptively <br />similar to Brafford Drive. This road name is Bradford.Road, SR 16D4. <br /> <br />In speaking with Howard Scarbrough of the Cabarrus County Sheriff's Department, <br />the Communication Director has trouble with the above mentioned road names along <br />with the Planning Department. Our recommendation is to rename Bradford )bad, <br />SR 1604, to Old Bradford Road since it was in on the State system prior to <br />Brafford Drive. We wish for the Commissioners to act on this so that we may make <br />the necessary corrections and notify the property owners along Bradford Road. <br /> <br />If the Commissioners approve of this change, then they will need to set a public <br />hearing to allow citizen comment before enacting this road renaming from Bradford <br />Road to Old Bradford Road. <br /> <br /> <br />
