CARPET SPECIFICATIONS <br /> <br /> These specifications pertain to the furnishing~ transportation to site, and <br /> installation of all carpeting as generally specified below In the Charles <br /> A. Cannon Memorial Library, Kannapolis Branch at a site off West ~C~ Street <br /> in Kannapolis, N.C. <br /> <br /> MATERIALS: Carpeting shall be of first quallty, free of any irregularities <br /> of weave or materials~ and 'shall be from the same dye- lot. Carpeting should <br /> generally fall within the range of specifications as follows: <br /> <br /> Type Face Yarn: 1OO~ Nylon <br /> <br /> Yarn Size: 2000 ~ 3000 Denier <br /> <br /> Construction: level, texturedj or tufted loop <br /> <br /> Coloration: solution dyed <br /> <br /> Pile Height: 1/16 to 1/2 inch <br /> <br /> Stitches Per Inch: ~.O0 to 13.O0 per inch <br /> <br />Tufts Per Sq. Inch: 160,000 to 200,000 per sq. inch. <br /> <br /> Static Control: 2.5 Kilovolts or less tested under AATCC-13q <br /> <br />Guage: 1/16 to 1/8 <br /> <br />Density Factor: 5,200 to 5,800 <br /> <br />Primary Backing: ~OVen jute or ~oven polypropylene <br />Pile Weight: not less than ~8 ounces per square yard <br /> <br />Width: 12~ <br /> <br />Warrenty: Carpet must have a wear warrenty of not less than ten [10) years <br /> and should be classed for heavy con~nerical use. <br /> <br />QUANTITY OF HAT£RIALS: Carpet is to be placed over an area of approximately <br />lq,2OOsquare ft or 1,572 square yards. Bidders should figure excess amounts <br />in order to successfully cover this area in to their bids. Areas of the <br />library which are not to be carpeted are so indicated in the floorplan. <br /> <br />GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: <br /> <br />A. The successful bidder shall be responsible for inspecting all carpet ~rior <br />to delivery and shall report any defects in the material to the County Manager. <br />The successful bidder shall bear full responsibility for all expenses incurred <br />by the replacement of materials defective from fabrication or damaged during <br />dellvery or installatlon. <br /> <br />B. Installation is to be accomplished in an approved and professional manner. <br />It is suggested that the carpet is to affixed directly to the concrete floor <br />with a high quality adhesive and that no pad be used between the carpet and <br />the floor. -- <br /> <br /> <br />
