C. 28025 <br /> <br /> Reference: Comparative Cost Study - New construction cost <br /> versus Restoration cost for the Craig Building <br /> <br /> Gentlemen: <br /> <br /> At the request of the Cabarrus County Commission, we have <br /> prepared the following cost estimate comparing the projected <br /> cost for new construction of a two story office annex building <br /> of approximately 10,000 square feet and the cost of restoration <br /> of the Craig Building. <br /> <br /> This estimate is based upon the scope of work described in <br /> the enclosed "Outline Specification for Proposed County Annex <br /> Building "and the previously submitted "' Space Utilization / <br /> Economic Feasibility Study for Craig Building" <br /> <br /> This estimate is based upon the Architects own cost estimate <br /> and estimates from four General Contractors in the Charlotte - <br /> Concord area. <br /> <br /> After discussions with Mr. Lentz and Mr. Barnhardt on July 12, <br /> 1983, we have revised tile original General Construction <br /> estimate for the Craig Building to replace the existing second <br /> floor wood deck and joist system with a new steel beam-girder <br /> -column system with a 1~" metal deck and 3" concrete topping. <br /> We have also added the cost of upfitting the second floor of <br /> the Craig Building for additional county or lease tenent <br /> office space. <br /> <br /> Scope of Work ~raig Buildin~ New Annex Building <br /> <br /> Demolition $ 0.00 $ 10,000.00 <br /> Site Development $ 22,500.00 $ 22,500.00 <br /> General Construction $ 174,500.00 $ 300,000.00 <br /> Mechanical $ 68,000.00 $ 95,000.00 <br /> Electrical $ 38,000.00 $ 40,000.00 <br /> Plumbing $ 12,000.00 $ 12,500.00 <br /> Elevator $ 23,000.00 $ 30.000.00 <br /> <br /> <br />
