(fl All applications for the discharge of industrial wastes into <br />the public sewers shall be made to the City. Approval will be granted <br />such applications when evidence is submitted by the applicant that the <br />discharge of wastes into the public sewer will comply with this Ordinance <br />and applicable City, State and Federal requirements. <br /> <br /> {gl Grease, oil and sand interceptors shall be provided when, <br />the opinio~ of the County, they are necessary for the proper handling of <br />liquid wastes containing grease in excessive amounts, or any flammable <br />wastes, sand or other harmful ingredients; except that such interceptors <br />shall not be required for private living quarters or dwelling units. All <br />interceptors shall be maintained by the Owner at his expense in <br />continuously efficient operation at all times. <br /> <br /> {h) Where preliminary treatment or holding facilities are provided <br />for any purpose, they shall be maintained continously in satisfactory and <br />effective operation by the owner at his expense, and there shall be no <br />discharge of wastes requiring pretreatment either directly or indirectly <br />to the County's sewer system, without first notifying and obtaining <br />approval from the County and City. <br /> <br />Section IV - Powers and Authority for Inspection <br /> <br /> {a} The County Manager and duly authorized employees of the Board <br />shall be permitted to enter upon all properties for the purpose of <br />insDaction, observation, measurement, sampling and testing in accordance <br />with the provisions of this Ordinance. <br /> <br /> (b) All tests and analyses of the characteristics of waters and <br />wastes to which reference is made in this Ordinance shall be made in <br />accordance with the procedure given in the latest edition of STANDARD <br />METHODS FOR THE EXA~IINATION OF WATER, SEWAGE AND INDUSTRIAL WASTES <br />published by the American Public Nealth Association.
