C. 28025 Dear Mr. McGinnis: Attached are two Grant Applications that our Department would like to submit to the North Carolina Arts Council soliciting funds to support two programs. The first application is a challenge grant which re- quires a 50% match toward the support of a propOsed community band which will be sponsored by our Department. The loc~ s~ ~unds are budgeted in our proposed 1984-85 Fiscal Year Budget. The details concerning this program are outlined in the application.. The second application is a request for grassroot funds to support the Cabarrus Youth Theatre. In the past the theatre program has been a seasonal program~ only during the Summer months. It is proposed that through a cooperative effort with the City of Concord Parks and Recreation Department and the North Carolina Arts Council that the program be expanded to a year-round activity with planned performances year-round. The attached application outlines a complete history of the Theatre Program and outlines the proposed expanded program for the 1984-85 Fiscal Year. The local cost will be shared by the Concord Parks and Recreation Department and our Department, and the cost for this program will be reflected proposed 1984-85 Fiscal Budget. In order to apply for these funds, we will need approval from the Cabarrus Board of County Commissioners. I would like to request that you place these items on their Agenda for their March 19th meeting. If necessary I will be available at the meeting to answer any questions.
