I <br /> <br /> Resolution <br /> <br /> of the <br /> <br /> County ~ of County Commhsiooem <br /> <br /> BE~RESOLVED THAT: <br /> <br /> 1). The Cabarrus County Board of County Commissioners, along with the groups and <br /> persons shown on the attached sheets, propose that the North Carolina General <br /> Assembly approve legislation to increase the optional sales tax for the counties from <br /> .Ol 1/2~ to .02e. <br /> <br /> 2). Seventy-five percent of the additional sales tax is to be used for water management <br /> needs. These needs include but are not necessarily limited to water storage <br /> facilities, sewer lines, water lines, water and wastewater treatment plants, and <br /> maintenance and upgrading of existing facilities. <br /> <br /> 3). Twenty-five percent of the additional sales tax is to be used by the State of North <br /> Carolina for the establishment of solid water recycling facilities utilizing a regional <br /> planning approach. The purpose of estabUshing solid waste recycling facilities is to <br /> bring about a significant reduction in the need for sanitary landfills. <br /> <br /> MANDATED TO: Members of the North CarOlina General Assembly <br /> <br /> <br />
