It can be very <br /> flexible program ~ased on a partnership between local government and the private <br /> sector, and emphasizes locally designed programs to improve training and p!aca- <br /> moat in the private sector. <br /> <br /> The governor is charged with implementing this program by October 1983, and is <br /> in the process of making decisions on how the program ~ill be organized in <br /> North Carolina· The timetable for his decisions is show~ in Attachment A. <br /> Because of his short timetable, and his option to act as "local official" for <br /> all units of government under 200,000 population, many local governments may <br /> not be aware of their options under this new legislation. <br /> <br /> The Centralina staff has prepared this analysis to help local officials understand <br /> some of those options. <br /> <br /> W-~,Y WOL%D YOU BE INTERESTED IN T~K!NG AM ACTIVE ROLE IM THE JOB T~!I!ING P.kR%fNERSHiP <br /> <br /> · it can allow local governments to select local employers and other persons <br /> familiar with employment as th__~e policy and planning body for mm~power fumds. <br /> <br /> .
