Report to Cabarr~s CoLinty Eoard of Ca~mmissioners <br /> Page - 2 - <br /> <br /> COOPERATION <br /> <br /> Several fire control and ~nokey ~ear posters were distributed to Pitts Volunteer <br /> Fire Department. <br /> <br />A forestry representative attended meetings of the Goveraor~s !nteragency Co~mmittee <br />on fmcs!! Wood!ots, along with members of the ASCS, Soil Conservation Service, <br />Farmer's Home Administration, Connty Agent, and other interested individuals. A <br />meeting on cost-sharing assistance, sponsored by the ASCS,was also attended. <br /> <br />FIRE CONTROL <br /> <br />A broken electric fence caused one fire, burning abot~t one-half acre. <br /> <br />The December Cabarrus County Chiefs' meeting was cancelled for the holidays. <br /> <br />WORK PENDING <br /> <br />Four forest management plans, involving abotlt 75 acres, remain to be completed. <br />Sixty-four acres of pine plantation are to be marked. @~e hundred eighty-six <br />acres of tree planting remain to be done. Follow-ups on projects for 20 !andowners <br />are also pending. <br /> <br />Elizabeth M. Sbrum was appoiated Forest Technician for Cabarrus County on <br />December 1, ~982. Miss ShrLml attended Wayne C~_munity College, Goldsboro, N. C., <br />and holds an Associate Degree of Applied Science in Forest Resources Technology. <br />She has completed the North Carolina Forest Service Basic Fire Control ~'raining, <br />the Basic Law Enforcement School, and is in the process of c~mp!eting the Forest <br />Service Ranger Training Program. <br /> <br />I, Elizabeth .~.i.
