Cowon - Director <br /> <br /> PROCLAINATIOH OF "SUPERD~Y '83" <br /> <br /> WttEREAS, individual and organized forms of recreation and <br /> the creative use of free time have gained growing <br /> importance in the lives of all Americans as they Find more <br /> and more time freed for personal pursuits; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, recreation encompasses myriad activities that <br /> result in satisfaction and family unity; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS~ recreation is not confined to the young and those <br /> with great physical prowess, but can be pursued by persons <br /> of all ages in programs of arts and crafts, tourism, cultural <br /> endeavors an~ nature studies; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the "Life. Be in it." program and "Superday '83", <br /> unlike others of their genre, promote a zestful approach <br /> to life in general through the encouragement of a broad <br /> range uf inexpensive recreational activities that do not <br /> demand special instructions or special equipment; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the "Life. Be in it." and "Superday '83" program <br /> in their most far-reaching benefits, can help combat the <br /> problems of juvenile delinquency, disabling old age and <br /> general depression by subtly highlighting new avenues of <br /> interest to every individual in the community. <br /> <br /> THEREFORE, Be it Proclaimed that the Cabarrus Board of <br /> Commissioners hereby endorses the "Life. Be in it." <br /> program and June 4th "Superday '83", urging citizens to <br /> relish the wonders of nature around them. <br /> <br /> <br />
