McGinnis: <br /> <br /> Our Department recently received information from the National Recreation <br />and Park Association designating June 4 as "Superday," a nation-wide day of <br />special events and festivities. To execute this project, the NRPA is asking <br />all public Parks and Recreation Departments to participate by holding their <br />own "Superday." The NRPA also plans to promote "Superday" through a national <br />advertising campaign during the month of May. After discussing this matter, <br />our staff has decided to participate in this project by sponsoring "Superday <br />'83" at Frank Liske Park. <br /> <br /> Our staff intends to make "Superday '83" a total community effort by <br />enlisting the aid of local businesses and community groups to plan and organize <br />specific activities for the event. The City of Concord Parks and Recreation <br />Department has already agreed to serve as co-sponsors for the event. <br /> <br /> To initiate the publicity campaign for "Superday '83" I feel it appropriate <br />to request the~offieial endorsement of the Board of County Commissioners in the <br />form of a proclamation which you will find enclosed. We feel that the support <br />of the County Manager and the Board of Commissioners is vital to any project of <br />this magnitude. <br /> <br /> Sincerely, <br /> <br /> William K.
