CABARRUS COLP~TY ANIMAL CONTROl. ORDINANCE ARTICLE Sec. 1. Establishment and composition of the Animal Control Advisory Committee. There is hereby created an Advisory Committee to advise the Cabarrus Connty Board ~f Health and the Director of the Cabarrus County Health Department with respect fie animal Control matters. The Advisory Committee is to be com- posed of five' (5) members appointed by the BOard of Health in conseltation with the Bo~r~ of County Commissioners. The members of the Advisory Committee shell Serve tgrms as established by the Board of Health. The Rabies Control Officer(s) will serve as chairman, ~OSEB *Sec. 1. Establishment and composition of the Animal Advisory Committee. * |ANGE * There islhereby created an Animal Advisory Committee to meet when deemed l *necessary to ~ork on animal and animal related problems and to advise the * · Board of Caba,rros County Commissioners on these matters~ mhen necessary. · The Advisory- Committee is to be composed of seven (7) ~embers (chief dog · warden, human~society investigator, commissioner who is animal liaison, health · director, 2 veterinarians-rabies control officers) to be appointed by the · Board of Conn~y Commissioners, and a pnblic spirited citizen. · The committee shall serve terms as established by the commissioners. * Sec. 2 . Establishment and composition Of the Animal Control Departg~nt; a~)pointment and _compensation of ~department There is hereby created an Aoimal Control Department of the county, whiah shall be compos, ed of such employees as shall be determined by the Board of County Commissioners. Such employees shall be appointed and compensated in accordance with the personnel policies of Cabarrus County. Bec. 3. General dnties o~ Animal Control Department. The Animal Control Department shall he charged with the responsibility of: (1) Enforcing, in this county, all state and county lams, ordinances and resolutioas relating to the care, custody, and control of animals. (2) Cooperatir, g with the Health Director and assisting in the enforcement of the laws of the state with regard to animals and especially with regard to vaccination of animals ageinst rabies and the confinement or leashing'of vicious animals. (3) Iovestigating cruelty or animal abuse with regard to animals. ~ (4) Making such canvasses of the connty, including the bomes in the county, as it deems necessary for the purpose of ascertaining that all animals are vaccinated against rabies as required by local ordinance or State statute. (5) Operating, pursuant to policies of the Board of County Con,missioners, tile county animal shelter(s).
